F-Body buddies, beginning (okay ‘68, close enough) and end.

Makes me so happy that it is original and doesn’t have some ugly, stupid set of alloys on there

Unfortunately, it hasn’t moved in at least 2 years and the darkness is hiding a lot of rust. It is a remarkably stock 6 cylinder though.

I’m not scared of rust unless it’s on the frame or a structural member
Wonder why it was parked.

It’s odd because it’s a university housing parking lot.

no engine emblems so its a 230ci I6

more than likely its rusting in the bottoms of the fenders and quarters, tops of the rear wheel wells and then bottom of the rear window and windshield. all typical first gen f-body rust out spots.

Yep, it’s a 6 cylinder.

The rockers are more air than steel. Above the mid body line/crease it’s surprisingly solid.

first gen Camaro/firebird’s are notorious for rusting in the trunk pans, the bottoms of the windshield and rear window, top of the rear wheel wells, and then all along the bottom. sometime look at the base of the windshield that’s usually the very first thing to actually rot out.
that’s why west coast cars are so hot because of lack of rust, these were the floors in the last 67 Camaro my grandpa and I flipped :
original factory primer. cant beat a cali black plate car.

Reasons I’m glad my car has so much fiberglass.

There is still a lot of steel to rust in a in a 4th gen. I think there is more than a 3rd gen.

Mine’s clean, I have only seen rust in early 4th gens.

FALL IN PRICE ALREADY DAMNIT! IT’S ALMOST 10 YEARS NOW, QUIT STALLING AND DEFLATE SO I CAN GET ONE ALREADY!!!

Same here, the 2 4th gens I’ve owned have been clean, but I was always worrying about the dash pad cracking but luckily it never happened.

I love mine. I see C5 Vettes consistently cheaper than clean F-bodies, which makes no real sense.

Just look at this fucking insanity. Average price hovering around $14k. $14k!!!!

Low miles but still insane.

Pretty typical for all GM cars

did you get the headlight motor fixed? I got mine off of rockauto and the covers are screwed on so it makes it easier when the gear goes again

Yeah, I rotated the gear 180 degrees and it’s been good since.
